Experimental project Violent Squid started in 2003 as a solo project of Ty Stamp from Denton, TX. In 2006 the project evolved into a large improvisational collective consisting of some of North Texas’ most skilled musicians. The project expanded in 2012 to Austin, TX including collaborations with Austin musicians as well. The sound grounded mostly in Krautrock and Jazz influences but also World.
